Batase Village School

Batase, Nepal

Batase is a small village in the rural Himalayas of Nepal. The village school consists of 185 students and recently, the school has added grades six through eight – an increasingly important endeavor given that 30% of Nepalese students drop of of school before sixth grade. Before these grades were added, students in grades six through eight had to walk two hours everyday to attend school in another village.

GEN has worked with Changing Lives Nepal to raise money to help finish the construction of the classroom building. With our support, the Batase Village School has worked to complete the new building and start educating more students in this region.
